We were visiting, four hours from home, and our car left a big oil spot overnight. Since we keep our cars well-maintained at a reputable dealership, we expected there had been a failure.
But the “failure” turned out to be a “hammering” that had occurred at the home dealership. They’d not properly tightened the oil filter. It was loose.
Dripping oil.
Luckily, it didn’t drop off on the Interstate.
